On August 1st, 35,000 Philadelphians with disabilities will lose General Assistance, their sole source of income.
The budget year, Gov. Corbett ended General Assistance, a last resort program for Pennsylvanians with disabilities, domestic violence survivors, and people in drug and alcohol treatment programs. When he did this, he promised to “try to find alternative sources of help”.
We need to stand up and fight back!
